Everyone knows… Before it’s hot in the stores, before it’s hot on the radio, before it’s hot on the internet—it’s hot ‘in the streets’ first!

That’s exactly the case for L.E.P. Bogus Boys also known as “Low End Professionals.”  Originally from the streets of Chicago—Ickies Projects to be exact, L.E.P. Bogus Boys is finally able to see much of their hard-work and hustle pay-off.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys sound is very familiar—its gangsta’ rap, putting listeners in the same head space as Mobb Deep or even…Tupac on his All Eyes On Me album.  With songs like, “Ganstaz Only” ft. Mobb Deep and “Rush Hour”—it’s easy to see that L.E.P. Bogus Boys are some of the realest in the  game.  Hip-Hop needs them… the radio needs them… the streets need them…!

“There’s some die-hard fans that really like the feel of substance, what’s happening in the community,” says Jones.  That’s how [Hip-Hop] started, people sitting around talking about what’s going on in their community…They started rhyming about it… they added a beat to it. They talked about real life over music.”

The three-member turned two-member rap crew has been together for over a decade (Lil’ Larro, Moonie and Count—Lil’ Larro was fatally wounded in Chicago in 2006).  Between group members being locked up, friends dying, family turning their backs— basically just living the life of hustlers’—street hustlers—the crew has been through a lot but has likewise grown from those experiences.

“Sometimes you live for the moment, and you don’t think about the future, you know? You think about what’s going on right now. “I gotta get it, it’s quick, it’s easy.” The moment when something happens, that’s when you start thinking about the future. What I regret is thinking about the moment, not the future.”

Well fast-forward—the crew is certainly thinking about the future these days, as they are on a grind like never before!  Having already been ‘unofficially’ apart of Drake’s Club Paradise Tour— having been featured on one of Mobb Deep’s songs.  It wasn’t long before Drake ‘officially’ brought them on-board as an opening act!

When asked what artists inspire them, they did not hesitate: “NWA, Run DMC and EPMD.”
