One of the most interesting plotlines of this season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta has been the downward spiral of NeNe Leakes relationship with her husband, Gregg. The duo, together for 14-years, has dealt with speculation about their marriage for several months now, with NeNe most recently telling the December issue of Essence magazine that she and her husband were “still together.” But Gregg’s son, 34-year-old Damian, paints a much bleaker picture of his dad’s union with the reality TV train wreck. He told RadarOnline.com:
“The paperwork is being done. Nothing has been filed, but lawyers have been retained.”
“There are so many small intricate points that they’re asking for…talks about alimony and spousal support.”
“She wants to keep the house and move on with her life. They’re trying to portray it as ‘we’re not getting divorced’ and they’re trying to work it out right now, but that’s not the case.”
As for that $300,000 Gregg allegedly gave NeNe that’s been a big point of contention between the two both on and off the show, Damian said:
“He feels like he made her because he gave her a lifestyle everyone wanted to see. She feels like he should have supported her and had her back. NeNe does have a selfish quality and so does Gregg and eventually over time they’re going to butt heads like what they’re doing now.”
Gregg has my respect because, obviously, he has the patience and understanding of a saint to remain with NeNe for 14 years. That loud ghetto act she has going on may make for good TV, but it sure as hell doesn’t make for a good marriage.
