My girl Lil Kim wants any and everyone who doubted her claim that her Black Friday mix tape sold more than 100,000 copies through PayPal to kick rocks with no socks in the winter time (my words, not hers)!! Almost immediately after the Queen Bee made the announcement about her sales on Twitter last week, naysayers came out of the woodworks to cast doubt on what is unquestionably a huge achievement for the Brooklyn-born hip-hop diva. During a recent interview, Kim spoke on the PayPal sales brouhaha, and why all the skepticism comes as a surprise. She told Richmond, Virginia’s iPower 92.1:
“Today it might be more, I haven’t checked. Someone from PayPal basically spoke up and represented for us on that behalf, but at the end of the day, I’m speaking for myself. [The] “Black Friday” video is almost at 2 milllion views; how come it wouldn’t be that easy to get the same on PayPal? I don’t get it. But whatever, the haters are going to be out there to try to question or whatever. Why is that so hard to believe? I don’t get it. I am Kim; I mean, I have a diverse fan base.”
