Many of you may have heard about the famous 28-year-old Harlem rapper Juelz Santana, who was arrested on drug charges after police officials searched his recording studio in New Jersey in January. The New York Daily News reported authorities also found that one of Santana’s artists, Toby “Hynief” Raynor, had been allegedly selling marijuana.
Raynor, who was signed to Santana’s Skull Gang Entertainment label, was also taken into custody and accused of selling pot to undercover police officers two times during a ten-month investigation. Law enforcement officials also found two loaded 9mm handguns and 17 small bags of weed in the Bergenfield, N.J. studio.
Police charged Santana, whose real name is Laron James, with drug and weapon offenses and are holding him under a $125,000 bail. Santana also reportedly posted a tweet two days after the drug incident and apologized to his fans in Chicago for missing a music performance due to his arrest.
Juelz state: “Sorry to all the people in chi-town that came out last night,” he wrote. “I couldn’t make it!! Trouble with the law.”
It has not been determined whether Juelz Santana has found an attorney for the case, but the music artist may want to consider seeking legal counsel to understand his legal options and the potential criminal penalties he may face for the charges brought against him. This is one thing for sure; rap doesn’t pay well at all as we can see this is why so many rappers are still selling drugs. Thinking they will double their money by selling drugs instead of investing in things that are legal. Stayed tuned for update……GOOD LUCK JUELZ!!!
