Two-years after the now infamous violent altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna that turned the “What’s My Name?” singer into the poster child for domestic violence, a Los Angeles judge has officially downgraded the restraining order against Breezy, which previously required him to stay at least 50 yards away from Rih-Rih. According to the Associated Press:

“Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg’s ruling came after an attorney for Rihanna said she didn’t object to removing the stay-away provisions of an order issued after Brown pleaded guilty to beating her in February 2009. The old order required Brown to stay 50 yards away from Rihanna, but the restriction was reduced to 10 yards if they were at a music-industry event.”

“He and Rihanna, 23, can now see and speak to each other. But if Brown harasses, threatens, assaults, or tracks his ex-girlfriend’s movements, he could be found to be in violation of his probation.”

The new order will remain in place until the anticipated end of Breezy’s probation in August 2014. Despite far-fetched rumors the duo wanted the restrictions of the order eased so they could eventually reunite as a couple, according to Breezy’s lawyer, the request was made because adhering to the order in its original form “restricted” the “No B.S.” singer’s career. Let’s hope this is a step towards getting Breezy’s career completely back on track.
