Producer, rapper, entrepreneur and husband, Swizz Beatz has embarked on yet another successful career spin-off! Swizz has again teamed up with Reebok to bring the streets a new line of the Reebok Pump Omni Lite. What’s so special about this sneaker line? Simple. BeatZ has dubbed the line, “Basquiat Sneakers” named after one of his favorite painters, Jean-Michel Basquiat of Haitian & Puerto Rican descent, who started his career as a graffiti artist during the early 70’s in New York City.
“I am an art fanatic, I have Basquait right here on my arm.” says Swizz.
For the Fall 2011 release of the line we got quite a few color-ways of the Reebok Pump Omni Lite. All in all there will be three new looks including a White/Black, Black/Red and Black/Metallic Gold color-way. The sneakers are as brash as ever featuring all spliced up images of his work and the phrase ‘I AM BASQUIAT’ splashed across the upper part of the sneaker.
“It’s not about Swizz Beatz’ sneaker, everyone has done sneakers already!! We’re bringing back [painter Jean-Michael] Basquait (12/22/60 – 8/12/88)!”
And not for nothing, Ladies, Swizz knows that unless you’re swag is on 100, not everyone can pull off a grown-and-sexy look with sneakers on.
“We’re working on something extra special for the females…because most females don’t want something big and clunky on their feet; so you can wear them with spandex.”
OK SWIZZY…WE SEE YOU TRANSFORMING THE CLASSICS– As long as no one tries to bring back British Knights, we ain’t got no beef! # 4ever. classic#
